Places Of Film – Part 2

168 Views0 Comments

Location. Location. Location. If you’re in the film biz, you will know that saying oh too well. You’ll also know the importance of having the right location for the right board, which is why SA is a winner in the top destination department when it comes to servicing international film productions. We’ve made Camps Bay look like Malibu, the busy streets of Johannesburg look like rush hour in LA and we’ve even turned the amazing backdrop of game farms into the beating heart of Africa.

Deserts, forests, wine farms, beaches, houses, cityscapes and game lodges. This month, we are celebrating our locations of film, showcasing a few of our top production friendly locations for your next film, doccie, tvc or stills shoot. We are counting down the days until international flights re-open and we can reunite with our friends from across the globe, but until then, we are keeping things local and remote – with great locations to boot!

Idiom Wines:

Location: Da Capo Vineyards, Off Old Sir Lowry’s Pass Road, Somerset West, 7130

Why we love it: Idiom Wines is one of the most spectacular locations in the Cape with panoramic views of vineyards and the Helderberg basin mountains and the full profile of the Cape Peninsula from Table Mountain to Cape Point. The 150 hectare property set amongst the majestic mountains and sweeping vineyards with views of the sea, is the perfect place to hold a shoot in the Cape winelands.

Home to some amazing sculptures by SA artist, Anton Smit, Idiom also boasts a gourmet Restaurant on site as well as a number of award winning wines. While South Africans have to wait a little bit longer to savour those delicious tones of red and white, the Restaurant is open for lunch between 10am and 4pm with increased health and safety measures, as well as an eat@home menu available every week!
