Compliments of the season to all our friends from around the world. 2022 has started off with great news as South Africa officially passes its fourth wave peak (as announced by NICD on 31 December 2021) and travel restrictions continue to ease on major territories such as Germany, France, USA, Canada, the UK and most EU destinations.

Travelling to South Africa:

Countries from around the world continue to ease travel restrictions to and from South Africa, without quarantine for passengers that have been fully vaccinated. This includes the U.K, USA, France, Germany as well as the European Union member states as of Monday 10 January. Here is a quick overview and latest travel information:

United Kingdom:

On arrival: No quarantine required, proof of negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours (printed) prior to departure, completed travel health questionnaire (48 hours prior to departure), travel insurance and proof of accommodation

Upon return: Vaccinated travelers with vaccination certificate against COVID-19 issued in their departure country or other selected countries are exempt from quarantine requirements and post-arrival testing on day 8. Travelers are still required to provide a negative pre-departure test. Unvaccinated travelers are required to purchase a COVID Testing Package before departure for Day 2 and Day 8 tests. Self-isolation is required until a negative test result is confirmed.

The Omicron variant which was discovered in late November has passed allowing our borders to reopen for business. New cases continue to decrease daily while South Africa remains the leading African country administering vaccinations. Both Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccinations are available with booster shots currently being administered for essential service workers and the general public. South Africa has remained on Alert Level 1 (the lowest level of restrictive movement for citizens and travelers) throughout the fourth wave with minimal travel restrictions and curfews in place.
